- Provide 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter, cut into cubes, cold
- Take 2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- Use 1/2 tsp salt
- Prepare 2 tbsp sugar

- Provide 1 cup fresh strawberries, quartered

- Preheat the oven to 375 f
- Combine flour, sugar and salt in a large mixing bowl

- Cook on medium for about 10 minutes until the berries have cooked down and the liquid is a thin syrup. Allow to cool.
- Separate the dough in half. Roll dough into two 11x11 squares on a floured surface. Press one square into a greased 9x9 pan on the bottom and up the sides
- Pour in the filling. Top with remaining dough square. Fold and pinch edges to make a crust.
- Make several slits in the top of the crust. Brush top with melted butter
- Bake at 375 f until golden on top, about 30 minutes.
