The ingredients needed to make Sambhar:
- Get 1 cup toor daal
- Prepare 1 onion
- Prepare 1 tomato
- Take 1 tsp Sambhar powder
- Use as per taste Salt
- Prepare as required Veggies (bottle gurad, drumstick)
- Prepare 1-2 tsp Tamarind pulp
- Get Sambhar Tadka
- Get 1 onion
- Provide 1-2 tomato
- Take 10-12 curry patta
- Take 1 tsp sambhar powder
- Use as per taste Red chili powder
- Provide as per taste Salt
- Provide 1 tsp mustard seeds
- Take 2 dry red chilli
- Get 2-3 tsp oil
Instructions to make Sambhar:
- First wash toor daal and in cooker add daal, water, one onion, one tomato, salt and keep for whistle 1 whistle on high flame and 2 on low flame.
- Once cooker cool down open it and mash the dal. Now add water as much thick consistency you want, add veggies and boil it nicely. Now add Tamarind pulp.
- In pan heat oil, add mustard seeds let it crackle now add dry red chil, curry patta, chopped onion, salt and fry till it becomes soft.
- Then add tomato and fry till it becomes soft.
- Now add sambhar powder, red chili powder just fry for 5-10 second and put this tadka in sambhar and just boil sambhar for one minute.
- Note - if you like sweet take you can add jaggery also while boiling. (Step 2)
